5 Reasons to Eat at Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to try Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers and get an inside look into how their business is ran. I walked into the restaurant with an immediate friendly greeting. I have to say I was taken back by the style of this place, super retro with red vinyl and lots of chrome. The restaurant sent me all the way back to the 70’s inside a hometown diner.

However, I won’t bore you with how cool the setting is, let’s talk about the 5 reasons you should eat here. 😉

1. The Freddy’s Way

The Freddy’s Way to prepare your food is after you order it. They prepare great food fresh after you ask for it and there is no long wait. They are quick and the food is made just the way you ask.

2. Cheese Curds

Yes, I said it, Freddy’s is now serving cheese curds. Oh, you don’t know what a cheese curd is? Well, it’s only one of the many delicious ways to eat cheese: ROLLED UP AND FRIED. I gobbled these up before I dove into anything else… and chances are, I didn’t share.

3. The Steakburger

There were plenty of options when it came to food. I could have ordered a hot dog, a steakburger, a patty melt and they even had a chicken option for all of you beef haters out there (I’m looking at you Thomas VanHook).

I went classic with a Freddy’s Original Double Double. It had all the fixin’s and was delicious. The steakburger was cooked to perfection, it had crunchy tidbits around the edges (my favorite part) and the perfect amount of seasoning that added a bit of spice to my bite.

We had the opportunity to take a look at how the steakburgers are made and behind the scenes of what goes on in the kitchen. The staff was so diligent and kind (even though we were invading their space). You can tell they really care about preparing you the best food they possibly can.

4. The Fries

I truly feel like fries can make or break a meal. These fries were amazing, fresh out of the fryer: hot and crunchy. I of course added the Freddy’s seasoning and dipped into their special fry sauce.

5. The Frozen Custard

Okay, there is a difference between custard and ice cream y’all. It’s creamier, smoother and richer than soft serve. I decided to have mine in a sundae, they had so many toppings to choose from! I kept it light (haha yeah right) with hot fudge, oreos and reese peanut butter crumbles.

They also have something they call a “concrete” similar to a milkshake. I did not have the opportunity to try this, but wow it looked delicious, next time!

So what do you guys think? Have I convinced you to give Freddy’s a try? It truly was a wonderful experience. I brought Corey home his meal and he loved it even though it sat in the bag for 20 minutes on the ride home.. now that’s saying something!
