Believe it or not, I have never stayed in a log cabin. However, a weekend stay in a Gatlinburg log cabin was always on my bucket list. This weekend, I finally checked it off!
My husband, his two sisters, and his father had a family road trip from Cincinnati to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. It is only a four hour drive from Cincy, and honestly the view alone while driving through the smokies makes the drive that much more worth it.
When looking at places to stay, American Patriot Getaways immediately popped into my mind. Phoebe, a local blogger for Milk with No Sugar, had raved about the cabins awhile back. She is frequent to Dollywood, check out her amazing insider info here, and so I really trust her opinion when it comes to places to stay in the area.
American Patriot Getaways made finding a cabin easy. I was able to call, tell them exactly what I needed (great view, close to the smokies, and close to all the fun touristy activities) and a representative found me the perfect cabin – Lazy Bear Lodge.
Equipped with a fireplace and cozy bear decor, Lazy Bear Lodge was the perfect relaxation getaway for the family – comment below if you want a full review of the cabin! During this trip we were never on the go go go. We cuddled on the couch with movies, went to bed early, slept in late, and enjoyed warm apple crumble with vanilla ice cream.
