Shopping for your wedding dress is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. However, it can also be stressful, overwhelming and drag just a bit. I am here to share my Cincinnati experience, and hopefully save a few of you brides-to-be some trouble.
Tip #1 : Make an appointment at Hyde Park Bridal
Amanda’s Hyde Park Bridal gave me an experience unlike any other boutique I visited… and trust me, I visited many that day. They greeted us with warm welcomes and bubbly champagne – does it get any better than that?
Tip #2 : Look at the dress from all angles
Luckily, Hyde Park Bridal features giant mirrors galore to help with getting that perfect view. I would definitely recommend having someone take images of the dress from different angles (even the bad ones) because on your big day, your guests and your photographer will be snapping pictures of you from all around.
You never know, you could love one dress while looking at it head on… but turn around and absolutely despise it. 😉
Tip #3 : How does it feel?
You guys… I can fit in anything from a size 8-12, that’s what you get as a curvy lady. If there is one thing I can stress the most, it is that Amanda’s team at Hyde Park Bridal does their absolute best to get you in a dress and make it feel as though it would on your wedding day.
I honestly walked in thinking no dress in that shop would fit me, who am I kidding… I am not a size 2 y’all. It was truly refreshing being able to squeeze COMFORTABLY (most of the time) into every single dress I tried on.
Now that they’ve fit you in the dress… how does it feel? Can you walk? Can you sit? Is anything scratchy or itchy? Making you feel uncomfortable? If so, tell your helper about it, she may be able to find the trouble, or it just might not be the dress for you.
Tip #4 : Celebrate!
If you find your dream dress – toast with champagne or even grab a celebratory lunch! Do something special with your shopping buddies. You saying yes to your dress is something to cheers to!
