I must admit I never actually put much thought into ‘our big day’. We have been together for nearly 9 years, and although I knew we would eventually get married, it was never something I actively thought about.
I have felt like I was married to Corey for so long. When he proposed we were heading to Vegas a few days later, my first thought? Let’s get hitched there! What a story it would have been! We can always throw a party when we get home…
To say the least, we didn’t end up doing that…
I have had a lot of fun putting things together, we have the venue, the DJ, the dress, the bridal party.. and a lot put together already. But sometimes I do let the wedding planning get to me – I probably should have much more done than I do right now. & let’s face it, if you know Corey and I, you know we do not like spending money – so this has been kind of hard for both of us.
The reality of it is – I am constantly reminding myself what an amazing day it is going to be and what we’ve realized is there are so few opportunities in life to gather all the people you love in one room and celebrate them. It is so special to have such an amazing group of people willing to celebrate with us.
So far, our wedding is no where near traditional – but we really didn’t want it to be. We want the day to be about our love, but we also just want it to be an amazing day filled with fun and celebrating everyone who has been with us on our journey. Our day is definitely going to be about us – and that’s how it should be. If you’re recently engaged – do you boo, don’t worry about what other people want.
I’ve talked a lot, so now I want to share with you a few of our engagement pictures. Emmalee from Love & Dwell is an insta-friend, and it just so turns out her vibes fit my vibes and she has been the perfect fit for our photographer. I mean, I’m so invested, I am trying to get her to come to the Bachelorette Party too. 😉
I cannot thank Emmalee enough for dealing with our shenanigans and making these pictures come out incredibly. Be sure to show her some love.
Love&Dwell
Of course I’ll include one blooper too 😉
We obviously aren’t the easiest to photograph. We really like making fun of ourselves… and each other. So a lot of photos are just us laughing at each other. But like I said, it’s all about what you want and what you feel like expresses your love – laughter is easily us. 🙂

February 11, 2019 at 5:29 pmYour pics are so cute! I just love seeing people’s unique expression of their love. Honestly, it’s hard NOT to let wedding planning get to you. It was so much more stressful and anxiety inducing than I ever imagined – and it’s amazing how many people feel justified in telling you what you SHOULD or HAVE to do. Like, um no. Excuse me, but are you paying for my wedding? Then you have no right to an opinion on it lol.

February 13, 2019 at 11:14 amYour photos are too cute for words! I loved every minute of wedding planning and I think it’s because I made sure to have fun with it! Sure it can get stressful, but always remember to focus on the fact that the MOST important part is the love you two have for one another. Your guests will have no matter what, and as long as you’re making decisions that are best for you two then they’re the right decisions! Can’t wait to follow along on your planning journey!! xx Molly
